I am not aware of picking up any viruses or malware from using either of these sites, but certainly one should always be suspicious. One should also be suspicious of any programs you download from sites you don't know as well, though. I tend to feel more comfortable with web sites that I know have been around for a while than I am downloading programs to do conversions that are not as well known. All of the programs suggested here might very well be completely all right, and I no nothing to contradict that. My point is only that downloading a program is not necessarily safer than using a web site. Always keep your guard up, your virus definitions up-to-date, and even scan the resulting MP3's with your virus checker until you gain confidence in whatever system you use.
Obviously, if anyone knows of any problems with either of these sites, I would very much like to know about it.
