Cool! They are going totally pro. We'll just have to weight and see if this thing will spit phantom power. IF it does, that's way cool. A pro recorder that's totally accessable. Cool.

From: "Johnny Russo" <johnnyru...@windstream.net> Date: Tue, 20 Dec 2011 16:19:14 -0600 Olympus is releasing an 8 track digital recorder, at the beginning of February 2012. The unit features voice guidance for all menus. It includes two built in condenser microphones, as well as two balanced combination XLR quarter inch inputs for high quality microphones, or to connect a mixing board. The built in microphones can handle sound pressure levels up to 140 decibals, so it will record live bands with clarity and no distortion. The LS100 also has an output to connect it to a CD drive, and it will enable you to mix down its 8 tracks, to a 2 track stereo mix. It wil record in 24 bit 96K resolution. This is the preliminary information I received from Olympus Japan. The suggested selling price will be $399. If you are a member of any list serves enabling communication with other blind musicians or blind engineers, please pass the word on, about the new Olympus LS100. Keep in mind, I'm not an Olympus sales representative, I have been in contact with Olympus product engineers in order to develop this 8 track digital recorder, with speech guidance for blind users. If you have any other questions, just keep in touch. John Russo, 903-645-4344 Colin Howard, living near Southampton in Southern England, wishes you a very happy Christmas followed by a peaceful, prosperous 2012.
