A few days ago I wrote to the list regarding the radio stream at
<http://www.2ue.com>, for some reason the stream just wouldn't play on any
of the 5 computers I had here - when I followed the "Listen now" lik I
just got a "Media Player" window pop up and that was it yet some other
users reported that they had no trouble getting the stream working and
upon reflection I'm sure I've heard of this problem mentioned on list
before so I decided to do a little investigating to see if I could find a
way around the problem.
I wrote to an audio engineer friend of mine - who also happens to be
totally blind - about the problem and he suggested that I use
"Stand-alone" links that actually launch a player of choice for my radio
streams and he gave me what appears to be a good site full of these links.
The pages at <http://www.mikesradioworld.com> are full of "Stand-alone"
links to radio streams from all over the world and I'm sure this is only 1
of dozens of sites that contain vast collections.
The links to the streams can be copied to your clipboard, saved to your
computer and so forth.
