Hi. I don't know much about this product at all and don't possess one and don't plan to but I did hear a report on a BBC radio programme that was aimed at the blind. It seems that more and more authors are not allowing their eBooks to carry voice over and the reason seems to be, these same authors make a load of money from audio books and if the voice over facility was available on eBooks then they would lose out on sales of audio books. Before you decide to invest I would suggest you go to the Amazon's site and see just how many of the books you would like to purchase are voice over enabled. Sorry my contribution is limited but I thought I should pass on the little I know. Walter.

Hello Guys, I'm strongly considering getting a Kindle Fire. Need to know how accessible it is to the blind community. Also does it come with the VoiceOver feature that reads both the menus and ebooks? Had to send back my Kindle DX a few months ago because Amazon for some strange reason left out the VoiceOver feature. If someone owns the Kindle Fire, can you please give some feedback on how accessible it is? Thanks.
