I'm not sure what OS or screen reader is being used in this case, but clicking on the header for the name column in Windows Explorer (or probably most any application) should also take care of this. I would do this with JAWS in Windows XP if I wanted a Z to A sort instead of an A to Z sort. Clicking on the name header will toggle this back and forth.
