I'm sure in the future that MP3 will be fazed out too as you can get better quality out of less band width by using AC or AAC+, that's the format which is used with DAB+ in Australia and other European countries, DAB+ being one of the Digital Radio standards.

Someone would have to look it up, but I doubt MP3 is better quality
audio than Real Audio. MP3 has been around forever! I also don't think
Real charged people to use their format, but it is a proprietary format,
of course, so is MP3 and AAC. I suspect the real difference is just how
ubiquitous MP3 is and AAC is becoming, with Apple products becoming so
popular. I don't think Apple products will even play Real or WMA
formats, so if you want to stream to a Apple device, and who wouldn't,
then you'll have to use MP3 or AAC.

Better quality audio, MP3 is more standard than Real Audio plus I think

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed a relatively small number
of stations are streming using RealAudio these days? Or perhaps it's
just me who is noticing this. This could possibly be because RealAudio
is a very proprietary format. I'd be interested in other people's
thoughts on this.
