Hi. I've had an iPhone for just about a year. The touch screen isn't too bad to use. It takes some getting used to, but it works well. If you want to use a keyboard with the iDevice, you can buy a blue tooth keyboard and do most of the functions that you can do with a touch screen.
Also, keep in mind that a device like the iPod touch or iPhone will do much more than play music or other audio content. You can download apps to do such things as listen to baseball games, play adventure games and many other things. If you're just interested in music then other players will do the job well.
