I wish I could dig up that episode of Mac Break Weekly where Leo used the
sampler on the IPad to do something goofy. I don't know if any of it is
accessible for us though, the Mac version has no sampler to waste time with,
unfortunately.

Subject: New Garage Band tutorials available
Hi!
2 new "Take Control" tutorials are available for the Garage Band music
creating, mixing and composition audio application called Garage Band
for the Mac and Iphone/ipad.
In the latest version of Garage Band, many new features have been
introduced and accessibility has been dramatically improved so if you're
a keen musician or you just want to record professional sounding
Podcasts with a few jingles then Garage Band may be just right for you.
Further to this if you're considering the switch to a Mac machine, an
Iphone or similar to take advantage of the huge benefits the Apple line
of products can deliver then perhaps you may consider joining the
"Mac-Access" mailing list <http://www.mac-access.net>, not only will you
be part of a forum that discusses all aspects of Macs and Apple products
but you'll be able to purchase any of the "Take Control" series of books
for a substancial discount, 80% discount in fact <smile>.
The "Take Control" series of books contains tutorials on just about
every aspect of available product including Iphone/Ipad, Itunes, Various
Apple Applcations and heaps of stuff on the Mac Machines themselves.
Now back to the Garage Band tutorials themselves,:
* "Take Control of Making Music with GarageBand '11": This 159-page
ebook provides step-by-step instructions and audio examples for using
GarageBand's built-in loops to create five songs, explaining not only
how to use GarageBand's editing and mixing features but also how to be
playful and creative while composing tunes that please the ear. Readers
will learn how to plan a song, get the most out of Magic GarageBand,
edit and arrange Real Instrument and Software Instrument loops, score a
video, craft a ringtone, create exciting mixes, and export projects.
The ebook also covers how to change track volume, tempo, and panning
dynamically, and how to work with GarageBand's effects.

* "Take Control of Recording with GarageBand '11": This 166-page ebook
explains how to create musical compositions with vocals, drums,
guitars, MIDI keyboards, and even the kitchen sink (make that leaky
faucet work for you!). Readers will learn how to get the most out of
their existing gear or purchase new equipment that fits their budget
and style. The ebook covers how to plan a recording session, and it
discusses real-world recording studio techniques for tasks such as
using a microphone effectively, getting the best sounds from your gear,
applying effects, fixing mistakes, using the 12 available amps and the
rich collection of stompbox effects, and recording multiple tracks at
once. Two example songs demonstrate many of the techniques discussed.
