Hi, Mark and List,

Just to be sure we're on the same page, go to tools by pressing alt-that.  Then 
select cd Reader and press "enter."

If this isn't the problem, I have to guess that your copy of the program is 
corrupted.  Get another copy and uninstall the current copy before installing 
the new download.

I rip cds occasionally and have no difficulty.
