there is also Vu Player, which sadly hasn't been updated since version 2.49 in 2007, but runs like a charm! under vista, 7 and XP

Subject: what is the best media player out there?

Hi,

Well I really don't want to start a religious discussion aboutthis topic,
but in the good old days I would have chosen Winamp as my one and only
player without any hesitation.

But today I'm a little bit in doubt, what's the best solution.

I'm running windows 7 and the latest winamp 5.57 various versions really has
issues that can make it crash some times.

So now I'm in search for a lite, super fast easy to use player with good
navigation keys and such.

I really love the Mardi Playlist program allot, but it also has afew issues.
For example it's programmed in a way that make jaws a little bit too
verbose, and it's quite slow when starting.

I also wish it could play afew video files, so it could become the preferred
media application for all types of streaming media.

Hmm wel it might even end up in a reinstallation of winamp again. Grin

But I'm very curious to hear, if someone on this list has good experience
with other mediaplayers with broad support for all kind of media files.

Best regards

Brian
