I think I've heard that you can copy and paste, but you have to go
through iTunes to do it.

When I had a 4th-gen Nano for a short period of time, I looke through
iTunes to see if I could just copy and paste some files onto the
player, and had no luck in finding out how to do it.  I have heard on
another list that you can do it by following a few steps in iTunes
though. *shrugs*  Not for me thank you.
