I don't know about the Book Port 2, but the PlexTalk Pocket has no timer to start recording. However, it does have a recording setting that keeps recording in "pause" until sound is "heard." So, if you have a way to set the TV to come on a particular channel at a particular time then the Pocket will start recording at that time with this setting.

Does the Bookport plus contain any kind of a timer facility which would permit the user to commence recording at a predetermined time? For example, if I want to record the audio from a TV show in the middle of the night, can I program the Bookport plus to do this?

Thanks.

Okay well that being the case then the person who told me that her Plextalk pocket used compact flash cards doesn't know what she's talking about so thanks for that, I must admit I thought it odd given that my Plextalk PTX1 uses SD cards.
