High Vicky,
Yes you can do that.
But you will need some kind of a multitrack audio editing software to do this. Adobe Addition is one of the peaces of multitrack audio editing software that can do this for you.
I know this because I use it all the time on my job, it works grate!
You may also want to check in to Gold Wave and Sound Forge.
I am told that they can do this for you to as well.
But to be honest, I never used Gold Wave and or Sound Forge, so I cannot verify this for you.

Is it possible to either be able to listen to or record just the voice and guitar from my CDS of John Denver? I feel I could do a much better job of picking out songs, if I wasn't distracted by other instruments.
