John thanks for backing me up on this matter.
clearly there are other ways to make the sound cards accessible only if dave 
would take the time to look for them and ask for scripting help from people 
who know how to script for the screen reader he is using.

That was the point that I was making in an earlier post about the Creative
Lab sound cards.
It may not work right out of the box, but if you know who to go to, that
could be rectified.
That was true about my M-Audio sound card some years ago, the same thing is
also true about the Creative Lab sound cards.
No one has the right to tell anyone to turn their back on any company
because you can't get their product to work right for you.
It just doesn't work that way.
Sometimes if you are polite to the people that you get on the phone, you can
get some where with them.
Again, look for a suitable solution before you give upon the problem.
