Hi!

Can't speak highly enough of the customer or technical support - call it what
you will - that I've experienced in the past few hours from the team at
Goldwave.

Had a couple of issues, one I thought might be a bug and another which was
originally a feature request, turns out the feature is already in the software
but one thing at a time.

So to the possible bug? This turned out to be a miss-understanding of the "Drop
cue point" function as described in the manual, the way the manual describes
the function I was under the impression that using this function - either from
the "cue" menu or by using ctrl-q - a cue point would be inserted at the
current location of the cursor in the sound file.

This is indeed true however this function only works as I just described it if
you're in either the play mode - playing the sound file - or in pause mode, it
doesn't work in stop mode, in stop mode a cue point is dropped at the location
of a start marker, so far so good and the manual will be modified to make
things a little clearer.

Okay to the second point and this again is to do with cue points, I requested
some way of deleting data between cue points and it turns out that there's a
"Select between cue points" command, you could use this command to select the
data between cue points and then delete that data with the delete key for
example. Unfortunately this command is not - at this time - accessible with a
Screen reader but there's a work around.

Firstly, why would you want to delete data between cue points. Suppose for
example you've recorded a TV programme, you wish to write the project to CD so
you map out the start and end points of the various sections, the points
between your sections are the commercials and you don't want them on your CD or
don't want them in your finished project so here's where deleting data between
cue points comes into its own <smile>. You can go into the "Edit Cue Points"
and set start and finish markers at various cue points by scrolling through the
list of available points and using the options presented in the context menus
to manipulate the markers, then close the cue once you've everything set and
press the delete key. An example of selecting data between cue points, the end
cue point of section 1 and the beginning cue point of selection 2.

Again, a a wonderful product is Goldwave and it can only get better I'm sure!
