Hi, think you're refering to the Sony PMCD50 which is exspensive and a pro level recorder with 24 bit depth recording and 96Khz sampling rate support. It will support pro mics but you have to buy a separate XLR interface if you want to use regular pro-style mics. so no, the Plextor wouldn't be on a par with that, but that's not to decry the virtues of the accessible Plextor recorder we're discussing.
