Wow, thanks; I've been wanting to know that for ages; too shy to ask. Cheers Amie

Hi. If it is an audio disc you have then just copying and pasting won't work, as you have found. I will assume you are using windows so the easiest way to do it is to rip with Windows Media Player. Once you have inserted the disc into your CD drive, wait a few moments, maybe 30 seconds for the drive to read and identify the disc. You should have a menu appear asking what you want to do; play the disc, rip the disc with Windows Media Player open the folder to view the files or do nothing etc. When you have that menu appear then arrow up and down until you find the option to Rip with Windows Media player and press enter. The rip process should begin at this point but if it doesn't then you will have to ALT tab to the player and either shift tab or tab until you get the option to "start rip." Once you see that option then press the space bar or enter and the process will begin and the disc will be ejected at the end of the rip. You will find your ripped disc in my documents/my music folder. I hope this helps and if you need more information then just ask. Walter. -----Original Message----- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org]on Behalf Of TrueBlue & Proud Sent: 29 September 2009 13:26 To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: cd album? hi guys, I have a purchased CD album of 20 music tracks, bought in a high street store. I want to rip and zip the ripped copy of the album to my wife to play in her car. How do I get the album tracks from the CD disk in my cd/dvd drive to my hard disk. Can I just go into the drive and copy and paste the tracks. I tried doing this, but it didn't work. The copied tracks wouldn't even play from the copied folder. Please someone tell me how rip this CD to the HDD, so I can burn them to another disk for my wife, Billy To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org No virus found in this incoming message.
