Hello List! I recently bought and activated a new XMRadio portable, battery-operated radio. This radio comes with a car and home kit, but the radio itself does not have a keypad, only a wheel and center enter button. I have not yet figured out how to change stations on it or do any of its functions. The remote control only works when the unit is on the docking station. It would have good if they had made the remote work at all times. The unit comes with a built-in antenna and an external antenna for when it is docked or in the car. There is also a Sirius counterpart, but the Sirius radio (stello 2 I think) has a key pad that may be detachable or it may be on the docking unit (I didn't get a good feel of it at Best Buy). If anyone else has the unit, where can I get more info on using it from? This unit is also an MP3 player that can be connected to the computer for transferring files from windows media player. Also, they say you can record songs played on XM Radio. It seems to be a one-button thing, but I have not done it yet.
Note: I don't have one, but I heard the Apple I-Phone comes without a numeric keypad. They probably have a way of using it for blind people, but wouldn't it be cool for Apple to supply or allow an external remote control for this unit and its I-Pod. I thought of this when I was fooling around with the XM Radio with the keypad that only works with the docked version of the unit. XM/Sirius and Apple could provide or sell remote control units or bluetooth keyboards for their units (braille or any kind). This would make finding stations or accessing menus easier. What do you guys think of this or has it already been done? James Robinson To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
