box to select 
those increments would be less ugly.

I'll mention your suggestion about smaller increments to the Audacity 
developers - they're far 
too big at the moment.

There is however a rather ugly work around for this. If you move to the 
playback speed slider,
route the Jaws cursor to the pc cursor and double left click, then a dialog 
opens which has both 
an edit box and a slider. The text in the edit box isn't intially selected, so 
select or delete 
it, and then type in any number you like, such as 1.45.

The focus problem, and Jaws not reading the correct names of the short and long 
increment edit 
boxes have already been fixed by the developers, so they will be fixed in the 
next release.

I found the alt tab work around through trial and error.  As far as speed
variations, increments
of 5 or 10 percent would be preferred.  I saw the edit boxes you mention but
was not sure what I
was seeing so I'll have to take another look at those.
