One thing I noted on the 4 netbooks that I have worked with is that most of them do not have a MP3 encoder. So, if you plan to use Goldwave or another editor that does not include a MP3 encoder you will need to download and install one. I installed the latest Lame and all is well since doing that.

There is a podcast that someone did on the Asus 904ha. You can find it at www.blindcooltech.com. Just do a search for Asus on the main page and you should find it. Although the podcast wasn't put together all that well, you can see the netbook in action, using GoldWave for recording and processing audio, along with a bunch of other stuff that will give you a good idea of what to expect in terms of performance from a netbook or at least this particular model.
