hi, whether tom does or doesn't condone such posts is entirely upto him! not
other list members. if you have a gripe, take it off list, either to the
original poster, or to tom himself. thank you.

Your rudeness is exceeded only by your ignorance of the law. I'm certain
that the list owner, Tom, does not condone the kind of copyright
infringement you endorse. The copyright law contains a "fair use"
provision that authorizes consumers to make copies for their own purposes,
which can include sending to one or two friends. I'm confident the
majority of subscribers to this list work within those parameters.

You're being more than a bit hypocritical to take Norma to task for
sending a copyrighted article when the whole purpose of the list is to
violate copyright. Since ripping music or audio books is a violation of
the law; and the changes a few years ago do not alter this fundamental
fact; posting of that article (especially since the copyright information
was also clearly provided) hardly rates a second thought for me. If you're
so sensitive about copyright, then kindly leave the list and take your
high moral values with you.

Norma,
With genuine respect for your best intentions and all your contributions
to this list, I object to the posting of a copyrighted article. Note also
that it is from a newspaper that, like the subject of the article, is
facing grave financial problems. A link would have been sufficient to take
us to the website.
Separately, as the article hints, you may well see a takeover by EchoStar.
Sirius XM has too much long-term value. I don't think list members should
panic. Not yet, anyway.
