Good point, Dana! I think that when you get something that gives you a
smaller file size yet better sound quality, then that's great, and we've
then made progress in sound reproduction!

Because they are too poor in sound quality, and too large in file size;
and because the MPEG3 standard has already been superseded by the
MPEG4/AAC standard, which gives better sound quality, with better rates of
compression.

Hi All, I have over three terrabytes of mp3 files and am thinking of the
future when these types of files will not be used any more. What
program should I get to convert mp3 to the newer formats. I currently
use soundforge 9.e , or adobe audition 3.0 to do batch file conversion
from cda to mp3 or wav format.
Any informationwill be greatly apppreciated.
