Oh dear!  I think that's kind of what we were afraid would be the case.
We'll have to talk to our friend.  Sheesh!  What a pity!  She wants to
participate in ACB Radio's Tuesday Topics and probably other chats.  Is
there any way at all she could at least use this card for that? She's a
real computer newbie, and may not want to do anything sophisticated.
She does hear the beep when pressing the control key but no one can hear
her.  Sheesh!  Is this really hopeless as it sounds?

Hello Pam,
SOUND MAX is not a good sound card.
My DELL system has one in it too as well.
I don't use mine anymore because you can't monitor the live recordings
and or live chats.
She can either use an internal sound card or an external USB sound card.
SOUND BLASTER would be a good place to start.
