This is Pam, Dave's other half. The situation with the stereos is this:
One <my unit that I brought to the relationship> has quit functioning entirely. The other <which is Dave's> has not received stereo on the radio tuner for several years, with the problem starting a couple of years after the warranty ran out. They are both, as Dave said, now very old, one probably 25 years and the other about fourteen. We don't see the benefit in trying to repair them; and the one without a functioning stereo option in the tuner is really disappointing. The speakers are what are in fine shape; as a matter of fact we have two pairs of speakers. In other words, we really think it's time to switch. <sigh> Ok, I hope that clarifies things a bit. Would that it were as simple as a new cable connection. <sigh> Pam -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of DJ DOCTOR P Sent: Friday, November 28, 2008 3:32 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Audio advice for main system. Hello Dave, My question is, do those receivers still work? Because if they do, then all is needed is a pare of RCA to 1-8th audio cables and you're all sat! My best regards, John. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave McElroy WA6BEF" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'PC Audio Discussion List'" <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> Sent: Friday, November 28, 2008 4:24 PM Subject: Audio advice for main system. >I hope this isn't considered off topic being audio but not necessarily >computer related, though now that I think of it getting my MP3's to the >main stereo system would be fun. > > > > We have two broken down old stereo receivers and a single CD player > from it seems like a hundred years ago but was only more like 17 or > 18.
