Hi, James: I don't know why it's not doing the same thing with Winamp--well, yes I do but it's too long to go into here--but the reason you're having this problem with SP is because you've got your sound card set to the "what you hear" or mixer option. There are ways to fix this, but if you do that, you'll get an echo effect when you turn the microphone on., but that's just the way of the world.
