you need adapters, and you won't pan cheap. you will have to probably spend around $200.00 or so for a mixer that pans .

Subject: Portable audio mixers

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase a portable, relatively cheap but good audio mixer.

I have 4 or 5 mics (2 mono and 2 sets of stereo) that all have 1/8 inch (8th inch) connectors on them. I want to mix them all together so I can make audio drama and give everybody a mic. I want to be able to control left and right channels and to be able to pan audio. I'm looking at either connecting the mixer to my Zoom H2 recorder, or my computer.

Do I need cables to convert from 1/8 inch to another type of cable, or are there mixers with multiple 1/8 inputs? Which should I go with?

Also, if I am trying to get a live concert with my ZoomH2, should I use soundboard or just record? How would I use the soundboard without the volume level on the board being to high and distorting the recording? Would I just put a line-in patch cord from the board to my Zoom's line-in jack?
