Your friend is mistaken, then;

The victor wave is a daisy player/cd player, shaped like a compact personal
cd player; in other words, a walkman with daisy capabilities. What daisy is?

Well, you can go to page number, if the book has that capability; switch
between skipping chapters, phrases, pages or paragraphs. This all, of
course, depends on weather or not the cd has the capability but at the
least, you can move between chapters and phrases. The other thing about this
nifty player if the fact it has USB connectivity to the computer, for
downloading firmware updates- there are no more, however, because this unit
is now beeing replaced with the victor reader stream, which I own and love.
