Try the sound professionals--fairly good and it won't break the budget.

Subject: microphone questions

Hello,

I know this list is primarily for electronic music stuff, but I was
wondering whether any of you could help me with an audio queery.

I am considering purchasing a Zoom H2 digital recorder, as it is the least
expensive device to offer as many features and such great quality as
recorders twice it's price.
I want to purchase several different external microphones for it. It
supports plug-and-power, with a 1/8 inch stereo mic in/line in jack.
I want to purchase the following:

1. A mono microphone
2. A pair of high quality sterio microphones, handheld with mic stands. I
want them to be good quality but reasonably inexpensive, somewhere less than
300 dollars.
3. A lapel mic.
4. A set of sterio ear microphones. (sometimes called headworn or
over-the-ear mics.
5. A sterio mic, that is like a pair of headphones in that there is only 1
connection, and the cord splits into 2 mics.

I want to purchase all of these mics, but am not sure of the manufacturer.
What will give me the best quality but be least expensive? Which mic should
I choose? I need the mic cable to end in a 1/8 inch connector.

Sincerely,
Joshua Pearson
