Hello List! When I installed Nero8 on my Vista Systems and try to play a CD or MP3 file, I get a message that says "The program requires Directdraw Acceleration, which is not installed or available on your system. Please enable it in DirectX Display." What is this and how do I enable it. I have downloaded and installed the latest DirectX on my vista system; however, I got the same message. I have since switched my default player away from Nero and back to Real Player 11, which I prefer, but I just wanted to test the Nero player. This message does not seem to restrict any of the functions of the Nero programs, but I am not sure; there is a checkbox to tell Nero not to mention this message anymore. Does this have anything to do with the way Nero plays things. I did get a rough music or soundcard play for a while, but it eventually cleared up or set itself properly and now plays well, except for the DirectDraw Thing and it plays well once you press OK. I don't use Nero's player, but I would like to know in this area.
