The first thing you need to do is go to their web site and register. Once you do that you can then start the player up and you'll hear that tick tock but it should only last for a few seconds and then a slight pause and the speech should come on. It is an interesting player in the fact that you can listen to lots of streams and podcasts as well as books. You also can download their games and play them. They only have a couple of games. The player is self voicing but I leave window-eyes running and it works fine here.
