Hello List! I recently installed Total Recorder 7 PE on my Dell Desktop, with a Sig Audio Sound Card. WWell, version 61 of TR worked perfectly; however, after installing version, the volume controls go wild--with the system volume being turned all the way down; if I turn JAWS off in order to record without JAWS coming to the microphone, the system does not record and JAWS gets muted or turned down again; when I went into skype and tried, the sounds were broken and not clear; and, even if I reboot without being in TR7, when the system comes back up and ready for me to enter log in info, the system is again turned way down. I thought it was muted for a while, but it is not and just turned down. I tried to set the volume controls as I want them, but each time I go into TR7 or reboot the system, it is automatically turned down.
After a while, I had to uninstall Total Recorder 7 and, afterwards, everything works as normal. I did get around it for a while by using Quick Mix to get me back to my normal sounds or volume controls, but this should not be I think; it is a hastle to always be running my QM file to get my sounds back up to snuff. Also, during the installation of TR7, they have two types of drivers (forget name of each, but not the Total Recorder normal driver, which installs automatically). Those two drivers give you a check mark to either have installed or not, which makes me to believe you don't have to install them since they give you a choice. Well, maybe there is some kind of conflict with TR7 and XP, as this version works with Vista too; I have not tried it on my Vista machine yet. If anyone has installed TR7, please tell me what is going on or what I need to do to get my sound system straight when it is installed. Ilike TR and has always used it for my voice recording and want it to work effectively for me. Thanks very much.
