I was having a strange problem with switch where the converted files would play fine on my computer but when I transferred them to my mp3 player it would play twice as slow.
I came across a little program called freeRip. It will rip files from CD and convert them as well. It supports mp3, WMA, OGG, and FLAC. It will also search the web to tag the tracks. There is an option to play your selected trax before converting or ripping. I found the program quite accessible with Window Eyes and best of all when I transfer files to my mp3 player they play correctly. There is a free ware version or you can purchase a couple more features for I believe $19.99. The conversion rate in the free version works just fine for me.
