Hi all, A quick intro, I'm Ari, a totally blind, jaws-using, uni student from South Africa. My question is this: sighted persons can use software like Acid and EJ where they can make layers and sequences of music, add different beat styles, add built-in instrumental stuff and add robotic voices and such, which are included with these software, but none of these work with JAWS. I want to know, coming from a totally non-music background, but keen to learn, what options I have of making sort of dance, electronica, electropop and techno music with robotic stuff. When I look at music offerings, the only thing that seems to be available that is accessible is CakeWalk, but this seems more for classical or slower stuff and it also seems as if you need a music background and you have to connect instruments to your pc and play them yourself, it does not have built-in stuff, plus it does cost a lot, and I'd like to try and make stuff before I buy. I am a total amateur at this also, as I have also heard of things called synthesizers and mixers, but I have no idea what they even do. The tracks I'd like to end up creating are tracks something like Kate Nash's Caroline's A Victim, it's a fast dance beat, it's her voice singing over the top, but her voice is somehow robotically modified, or music such as what Kraftwerk do. Sorry, I know this post seems awfully confused, but I just am not sure how to get started in making electronica music. Thanks Ari
