I would suggest that perhaps a USB mixer would be better, as it is specifically designed for computer use, and hopefully the issues of grounding would be addressed. Some of the cheaper mixers are not properly shielded, and as a result you end up with a bad recording that may have a hum, and it is also possible to pick up interference from other sources such as radio stations. It is for this reason that it is highly recommended that you use shielded cables and proper grounding where ever possible.
