Do you have 2 cd drives? If so, you can simply tell the destination to go on 
the faster drive and the source to go on the slower one (for example, on 
this here desktop, I set my source drive to my sony dvd / cd burner, which I 
find, now, dvd burners have slower cd read and write speed, argh. Anyway, 
the destination drive is my lg, which can burn at 52 x and which is 4 years 
old and stil performs like a champ.)
