Sorry folks, not so bright on my part. Just as I finished sending the message it occurred to me that I didn't look where most applications today store personal settings. The file is still named WINAMP.BM, it remains a text file which may be edited, and it is located, at least under XP, under Documents and settings\all users or your name\applications\winamp\.
