Ok everyone, this is a warning for anyone considering purchasing the new model of Ipod Classic which came out next month, I was seriously thinking about getting one of these gadgets but I'm wondering whether I may give this a miss? Naturally other blind people have these things so until I hear that they've had success with these new Ipod Classics then I won't be touching one. Firstly, you need sighted assistance to configure the new Classic to connect and communicate with your computer it seems, you actually need to tell the Classic about the computer you're using, whether its a Windows or a Mac computer. Second thing, you cannot run the new Ipod classic with multiple computers or multiple Itunes library's, what a pity. Finally and probably most annoyingly, Apple have seen fit to disable the "click" sound which could be heard when you moved around the navigation wheel, if this is indeed true then I'll indeed have something to say about Apple on that to see if it can be reintroduced into the machine via a firmware update or plead! with them not to take this feature out of future Ipod models. I'll let the list know as I find out more and if other people find ways around these problems.
