Well, people do as they please, I'm stating some facts as I've seen them and
as the author of Exact Audio Copy has reported them so you take it? Or you
leave it, simple as that, that's one of the reasons why EAC was rwritten in
the first place because the author of same was sick to death of dodgy rips.
Now if you want to further prove what I'm talking about here, rip a CD with
say Easy CD DA Extractor and rip it as one single standard wave file and
then d another rip, be sure to number them say rip1 and rip2. Now compare
them and see what you get, you'll find that they're not exactly the same and
they should be, after all they're from the same CD.

The problem with these values is that they were arrived at for the purposes
of measuring the supposed effectiveness of this software and are meaningless
in themselves.

Well for example, each drive has its own read and write offsets so in order
to rip and write audio CD'S accurately it helps if you can set the ripping
software to match those read and write offsets. For example, as a rule, the
Pioneer DVD drives have a read offset value of +48 and a write value of -18.
