If you upgrade to sf9, you get the noise reduction for no added charge, at 
least I did, for a total upgrade price at the time of $99.95, which was very 
nice. You might be able to buy it all for $149.95? including noise 
reduction, it really is worth it since, even if you don't like 9 which I 
don't for reasons well known on this list, the noise reduction is updated 
from 2.0A to 2.0G which costs by itself more than the upgrade cost, and it 
works with all versions of Sound Forge from v4.5 and up.
