High Kevin and Sunshine, I started out with a JVC 7.1 surround sound AV receiver, but I traded it in for an Onkio 7.1 surround sound AV receiver. I done that because the onkio receiver sounds a hole lot better with my Klipch speakers. Sure this equipment is very costly, but you can't get this kind of sound out of cheep or moderate priced equipment. I have a Macintosh MC-275 tube amp in my bed room, I have it hooked up to a Sunfire classic all tube preamp. And I'm driving it with a Denon 5-disc CD changer. And I have a pare of Bell-Klipch speakers. That system alone is a very smooth sounding system. Again, you can't get this kind of sound from cheep or moderate priced equipment. Hope this helps. Hi Trace. That's a really open question as the best amplifier you could get could be more than £10,000 with a similar amount for a pair of speakers. However, I'd suggest you take a look at the award winners section of www.superfi.co.uk I've just bought a Roksan Kandy LIII integrated amplifier and a pir of Tannoy DC Sensys speakers for a combined sum of £1,050 and I've been really pleased with them.
