Many times this problem is due to your sound card. Though I have the same
brand of
card on both my laptop and my desktop, the desktop will allow me to monitor
where the
laptop will not. I have no clue why this is.

Subject: Recording help with Goldwave.

Hi,
I am using goldwave, the latest version, 5.22. I am in the midst of making
my first recording from cassette to computer in order to make a cd from the
cassette. As far as I know, I have made all the right settings, and the
tape is recording. However, though I check the monitor input prompt on the
record properties tab, I can't get thecassette to play through my speakers
while it is recording. It certainly does fine in playing back, but I need
it to play through the computer speakers while I am recording. What should
I do about this?
Thanks.
