High Kenneth, Is your computer a desk top or a lab top? If it is a desk top, then this may be what the problem is. In the back of those internal cd/DVD drives, there is a jumper. There are also a set of pens that are in a series of 6. They are sat up like a 2-way 6-way connected switch. They are labeled, master slave and cable. By default, that jumper is on the cable. All depending on how your computer is configured, you will have to change that jumper from cable to either master or slave. After you do that, It should work for you.
