One method of achieving what you want to do is described in detail in 
an article which was recently posted to the GW Micro blog at 
www.gwmicro.com/blog.  the article you need is called "Fun with 
Extracting Audio".  If you use your screen reader's command to find 
text on a home page and look for the words "fun with" you should be 
able to find the item.
