well now, on my machine, windows reports the bit rate as 320 and the sound was crisp and full--a much better sound than a 128 bit rate could provide. I have a very fast modem here--it is a modem designed to receive tv signals so do you have a high-speed modem--I think possibly you do. You did select the high speed setting did you? Could it have been that the station was streaming only at 128 kbps at that point. Apparently they were experiencing some streaming issues. I actually left the stream and came back later and insert-shift T reported 320 kbps on both occasions so it would be interesting to hear what others are hearing in terms of a bit rate. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Noseworthy" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> Sent: Sunday, September 23, 2007 4:08 AM Subject: Re: High Quality streams.
Hi: Winamp reports the bit rate of that station as 128. Hmmm. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Hebert" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> Sent: Saturday, September 22, 2007 11:35 PM Subject: Re: High Quality streams. > The quality on this stream is truly amazing--streaming at 320 > kbps--definitely the best sound I have heard on the net.
