Hi Albert, I actually have three recorders: iRiver IFP 899, Olympus DS-50 and Edirol R-1. I very rarely use the iRiver these days. Each of these recorders has characteristics that are different enough to make them most useful in different scenarios.
If one were going to be able to get only one of these, I'd have to vote for the Olympus DS-50 due to its overall accessibility.
