The word "bounces" isn't part of the list address. It is in the "return path" header line and is added by the final transport system.
If a message you send to the list bounces the "Mailman" e-mail list software keeps track of the number of bounces and after a certain number of bounces it will no longer send you messages till the bounce flag is reset.
