In nearly all Sound Forge dialogues, you can preview by hitting alt p.
This lets you hear what it will sound like before you commit yourself.
Hit alt p again to stop the preview. While you are listening to the
preview, alt B toggles by-pass on and off, so you can compare what it
sounds like now with what it will sound like when you've finished.
