Jason,

Hit "enter" on Media Center. This will bring up a program list with My
TV etc. Arrow down the list and hit on what you want to do. If you
want tv, hit the "my tv" selection. That will bring up a list of "live
tv", "recorded tv", "the guide", etc. Arrow to the selection you want.

"The Guide" is a grid stylelisting of channels and programs. When you
enter "the Guide" it remembers the last channel you were on and puts you
on the currently playing show. To change channels, arrow to the left
once and then you can arrow up and down on the various channels. Find
the channel you want and then right arrow across the grid to find a show
you might want to record. Hit "enter" on the show and you can slect,
"record" or "record series". This allows you to record a single show or
the show each day/time it's on.

Live Tv works in much the same manner. The FM tuner is accessed through
"radio". I think the first right arrow let's you enter the frequency of
the station and entering on it will bring it up. You'll need a good
antenna!

Those are some of the basics I've figured out so far.

If you go to the Microsot.com web site and type in "Media Center short
cuts, you can find a page with a good listing of keyboard short cuts.

In general, when using the various function, use the arrow keys and the
back space key to move around and out of functions. The keyboard short
cuts seem to generally follow the usual Windows structure, but may use
control+shift+ a letter instead of just control.

Good luck.

A bit of a warning about adding products to a Media Center computer.
Microsoft was very tight in integrating programs into Media Center and
changing or upgrading them can cause real problems. For example, I
wanted to add an old version of Roxio Easy CD Creater. It seems that
all versions or at least most version of Easy CD Creater and Media
Center do not mix well at all. I'm still struggling with that. I've
also seen post indicating similar problems with WMP 11 instead of WMP 10
which generally ships with Media Center.

Hi Jason,

No there are no scripts. What are you actually having trouble with?

I've heard this can be somewhat usable with JFW. How do I set it up to
work best with JFW? Are there scripts out there somewhere? thanks, Jason
