Position Opening Training and Technology Specialist
Sensory Access Foundation (SAF) is seeking a highly skilled individual to perform task oriented training in the work environment and to perform comprehensive evaluations to determine accessibility needs in an educational contexts for people who are blind or visually impaired. Seventy percent (70%) of the time will be focused on training. OVERVIEW OF POSITION The Training and Technology Specialist (TTS) incorporates SAF's service delivery model in performing task oriented training in the employment environment and evaluations with blind and visually impaired consumers' needs in an educational context. The SAF model requires the TTS to couple extensive training, computer and assistive technology experience with an ability to serve as a communication liaison between the various individuals and agencies associated with each case. This position requires diplomacy, good judgment, initiative and independence, and organization in solving a variety of problems. This position is based in our Sunnyvale office. SAF covers the state of California; therefore, this position does require travel. Must have comprehensive knowledge of assistive technology and training experience with blind and visually impaired populations. Bachelor’s degree and experience in systems analysis/configuration between mainstream and assistive technologies for people who are blind or visually impaired is required. A teaching credential is preferred.
