I have a mono recording saved in a stereo wave file. I want to make a mono
Vorbis file out of it. I know that, if the track had been fake stereo,
combining the two tracks into one mono file would have caused the two
stereo channels to cancel each other out, thus making a mess of the
original sound. In such cases, of course, it's better to isolate one of
the stereo channels and save it as a mono file. In the case of a truly
mono file, is there any audio quality to be gained by only saving one of
the stereo channels, or should I just not bother and let Gold Wave combine
the two stereo channels when it saves the mono file?
